Things that nullify the ablution
Question: In summary, what are the things that nullify the ablution?
ANSWER
Seven things nullify the ablution:
1- Anything excreted from the front and rear organs. (If any medicinal streamed into the ear goes out through the mouth, if natural cotton inserted into the urethra gets wet and comes out or if medication inserted into the womb of a woman comes back out, then the ablution is broken.)
2- Unclean things coming out of the mouth. (A mouthful vomitting and blood spitting break an ablution.)
3- Blood, pus and other such things issuing through the skin. (Tears shed because of an illness and blood or pus that comes out from the ears or nose break an ablution.)
4- Sleeping. (If one sleeps while leaning on something and one would feel as if falling if that thing were taken away suddenly, one’s ablution is broken)
5- Fainting. (Going mad or having an epileptic fit break an ablution.)
6- To laugh aloud during namâz.
7- Mubâsharat-i fâhisha, that is, when a man and a woman physically rub their private parts (saw’atain) on each other.
